The Harris Central Appraisal District (HCAD) is the entity who makes changes to your property account and values the property each year.  Once those changes are made, HCAD will send those changes to each taxing entity who will apply their tax rate and send a statement to you.  This process could take anywhere from 60-90 days.

HCAD can be reached at 713-957-7800 or www.hcad.org where the forms can be found.

If the Appraisal District has not placed a value on your property at the time yearly notices are sent out, this is usually due to a protest that was done on your property.   Supplementals are sent monthly to the taxing jurisdictions, so if you do not see an amount due on your account you may check back periodically as the system is real time.  You will have the first of the month to pay that allows at least 21 days.  If you believe your account should be certified timely you may contact HCAD at help@hcad.org or 713-957-7800.

A receipt for property taxes you paid for can be printed from this website.

The Texas Property Tax Code requires school taxes to be assessed to everyone who owns property and or a buisiness within the district's boundaries.  Property taxes are based on the value of the property that is Appraised by the Harris Central Appraisal District.

Call the Harris County Appraisal District (HCAD) regarding your exemption options at (713)957-7800 or help@hcad.org. They are the only authority to grant exemptions for all properties within the Pasadena ISD boundaries. Also, you may obtain the necessary forms to file for these exemptions at the HCAD website HCAD.org.  HCAD will send the data electronically to all of the tax offices in 60-90 days when the exemption has been granted.  You do not need to submit the exemption form to us.  Please call HCAD if you have any questions about this process.

You can apply your homestead for a Tax Deferral with the Appraisal District.  Accounts with a deferral, the tax liability is only postponed and not canceled. Your delinquent taxes will continue to accrue at the rate of 5% per year once the deferral is granted.  You can pay on the taxes as much and as often as you would like.  If you sell the home or at your demise the taxes will then become due in full.  This Deferral will protect you from any legal action against your property.  The Appraisal District can be reached at 713-957-7800 or www.hcad.org
